Naval Base on the Shores of Nahr al Bared Camp
The Defense ministry requested a naval base on the shores of the Palestinian Nahr al Bared Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon.
The Lebanese cabinet on Friday announced its approval of the request and authorized the Development and Construction Council to contract with consultants in carrying out the necessary studies in coordination with the ministry.
The Nahr al Bared camp witnessed bloody and violent confrontations between the outlawed Fatah al Islam group and the Lebanese armed forces, resulting in killing 165 Lebanese soldiers.
