Man Wounded after Gunmen Intercepted Car of An Nahar Journalist
A man was wounded after gunmen intercepted the car of An Nahar journalist Ramzi Msharafiyeh along the Khalde seaside road south of Beirut.
News reports on Sunday said gunmen intercepted Msharafiyeh”s car on Saturday as it passed through Khalde.
They said the car was driven by Ismail Naffa. Msharafiyeh”s son, Makram, sat beside the driver. A man identified as Janah Salim Ilbi was also in their company.
They said Ilbi was shot and wounded after a crowd of men surrounded the car. Ilbi, who was also hit in the face, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Lebanese troops quickly stepped in and launched house raids. Press reports said several men were arrested.
