March 14 Rejects Veto Powers in Post-Elections Cabinets
MP Samir al-Jisir, member of the Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc, declared that the March 14 alliance would oppose the principle of giving the minority veto powers in any cabinet to be formed after the forthcoming elections.
"Whoever wins the majority (of parliament seats) should rule … democracy is the rule of the majority," Jisir said in a newspaper interview to be published on Thursday.
"A nation cannot be built without a group capable of taking decisions. Those who call for giving the minority veto powers aim at hurling the nation into controversy," he added.
He said the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL should answer questions regarding identity of those who had fired rockets from south Lebanon.
Relations between Mustaqbal Movement and Hizbullah, according to Jisir, are "calm."
