Independent Candidates Will Respond To Attacks
MP Michel al-Murr said he believed independent candidates in the districts of Baabda, Metn, Kesrouan and Jbeil were far from neutral in “color and taste” because of the factor of fear.
After meeting with the British and Greek ambassadors to Lebanon and National and Liberal Party leader Dory Chamoun on Thursday, Murr said Lebanese voters would hold candidates “accountable for their color and taste” out of experience.
“Independents, who are attacked, will respond by counter-attacking," Murr told reporters.
The MP also emphasized the fact that there was no presidential bloc. “There are no restrictions on the president in nominating any candidate,” he clarified.
Murr also denounced recent chants against President Michel Sleiman during opposition demonstrations against the Gaza crisis outside the US Embassy in Awkar.
