Sustained Cooperation among Arabs Away From Any Axis Is Endorsed
Minister of Environment Tony Karam told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Awan on Friday that the Gaza crisis might have undesired consequences on Lebanon.
Karam criticized the rocket-launching from South Lebanon toward northern Israel, while all parties insisted on preventing tensions, especially Hezbollah ministers who clearly announced that Lebanon should not be dragged into any conspiracy.
Karam said the Christian public opinion was fearful of a shift in positions, especially after Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun’s visits to Syria and Iran.
“Aoun played the sold game, because if he wins the parliamentary elections, he will keep up his choices and if not, he has nothing to lose more than he already did,” he added.
Karam added he would not announce his candidacy for the upcoming elections and noted that the results were almost clear on the Shia and Sunni levels, but the Christians would decide which party would be victorious.
He supported cooperation among Arabs away from any axis.
