Centrist Bloc Not Directed against Aoun
Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir said Saturday that a centrist parliamentary bloc is "not directed against Gen. Michel Aoun."
He said the centrist bloc is not limited to Christian sects. "It exists in all sects."
Sfeir hoped upon his return from Cairo on Saturday that Lebanese political leaders at the national dialogue "would agree in order to get the country out this cycle."
He also hoped that peace and stability would prevail.
The patriarch headed to Egypt on Thursday to represent Pope Benedict XVI at the burial of former head of the Coptic Catholic Church in Egypt, Cardinal Stephanos II Ghattas.
Sfeir had said that a centrist parliamentary bloc tips the balance between right and left.
