Saniora Tells Nasrallah Letter Sent to U.N. in September Regarding Missing Iranians
A statement by Prime Minister Fouad Saniora”s office said the government sent a letter to U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon on Sept. 13, 2008, urging him to help resolve the "mystery" shrouding the fate of four Iranian diplomats who went missing during Israel”s 1982 invasion of Lebanon.
The statement came in response to comments by Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday in which he said the Lebanese government is responsible for the fate of the missing Iranians.
The statement from Saniora”s office said the Iranian government is aware of the letter.
