Elections to determine State safety or Regional battlefield
On his Australian tour, March 14 General Secretariat member Michel Mouawad met with Lebanese citizens, originally from Zgharta, in Sydney. He said the electoral battle in Lebanon was one of choices rather than persons. The choice, he added, “was between building a state safe for its citizens and keeping Lebanon a regional battlefield controlled by a party, which took “Godly” orders, had security zones and illegitimate arms.”
Mouawad toured with MP Jawad Boulos and Youssef Doueihy, the candidate for the Maronite parliamentary seat in Zgharta. Mouawad and the accompanying delegation had also participated in a mass, which was followed by a meeting with the March 14 alliance. During the meeting, Mouawad and March 14 discussed the preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections and the possible emigrants’ contribution to it.
