Wiretapping Requires Administrative or Judicial Approval
In an interview with Future News television on Tuesday, Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar said, “If in some cases wiretapping was needed for security reasons, then it should be allowed but only after an administrative or judicial approval [is given.]”
Najjar said that Monday’s meeting on wiretapping, which included ministerial, security and judicial personnel, was “positive” and reached tangible results. He said that there was an exchange of opinions and an agreement to establish a room in the Telecommunications Ministry to facilitate wiretapping operations for security reasons.
