FPM is the centrist bloc, Sfeir thwarted Christian progress
Change and Reform bloc MP Salim Aoun said, during an interview with NBN television on Saturday, that his bloc regretted that Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir had not remained “neutral.”
“We have reached this dire situation, on the Christian level, and Sfeir played a role in this issue,” he said, adding that his bloc’s attempts to make progress were thwarted by Sfeir.
“Some people are claiming that they are independent and neutral when actually they are not. If we want to respond to their interpretation of the centrist bloc, we would be the centrist party because we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hezbollah, which paved the way for bringing different Lebanese people together,” he said.
