Sfeir Safeguards the Highest National Interests
Lebanese Forces Executive Council deputy leader MP George Adwan said Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir has “the vision, the necessary national insight and disdains all matters that concern individuals” for the sake of national causes.
“Sfeir is involved in national issues, the national path and in safeguarding the highest Lebanese national interests,” Adwan stated.
Following a meeting with Sfeir in Bkerki on Sunday, Adwan said, “In the past, we used to hold politicians responsible for their crucial choices… but today the responsibility falls on the shoulders of Lebanese citizens. On their choice lies the future of Lebanon.”
“Today, we are facing two big choices: Either we have a single state in which all parties work together or we continue fragmenting the state,” he added.
“If March 14 emerges with a majority, it will govern alone. If other parties take the majority they will govern alone and we will form an opposition.”
He also expressed his party’s reservations about certain appointments within the army.
