Arabs have No Choice in Confronting Israel Except Through Resistance
Hizbullah”s Deputy Secretary-General Naeem Qassem said that Arabs have no choice in confronting Israel but that of resistance.
"Rejecting the resistance means eliminating the force we have in confronting the enemy politically and practically," Qassem said.
In an interview with the official Syrian daily al-Thawra, Qassem said that any rejection of the presence of Israeli occupation, and any call for (Arab) rights cannot be obtained through diplomacy.
"Those that posses the diplomatic decision are the (major) states that support Israel and stand by it," Qassem said.
He went on to add that the July 2006 war provided the Palestinians with much bravado to stand up to Israel.
"There is a great political conspiracy against the Palestinians in Gaza (that works on) turning the Israeli military defeat into a political victory," Qaseem said.
The Deputy Secretary-General did not rule out a new Israeli aggression on Lebanon saying: " We build our state of readiness on the basis of the worst (scenario)…sometimes matters are related to Israeli particularities and at times due to an American request relating to the region, or due to required changes that need to be made on the Middle Eastern map."
Qassem differentiated between Israel”s war on Lebanon in 2006 and that on Gaza in 2008/2009 saying the first was the result of a U.S. request and the later the result of an Israeli need.
Regarding the next parliamentary elections in Lebanon, Qassem described them saying: "the elections are for political choices and Lebanon”s political future, not for parliamentary seats."
