Great Responsibility Awaits the Lebanese
Deputy leader of the Lebanese Forces MP George Adwan said that “a great responsibility awaits the Lebanese in [the coming elections] because Lebanon’s future and destiny…. lies in the choices that they would make.”
At an annual dinner of the Lebanese Forces in the Metn district’s village of Tarshish on Tuesday, he said the Lebanese would be “choosing between building the Lebanese state, and dividing it,” as the nation was “witnessing a counter-revolution to the Cedars revolution.”
Adwan said the Lebanese have a choice to make in the coming elections; the choice being if they “want a country where they can tour the 10452 square kilometers [the total area of Lebanon] without being interrupted by anyone other than the Lebanese army and the internal security forces,” or not.
“All the [March 14] public officials [during the last four years] had to make very tough choices to defend the nation. They were forced to choose between resignation and Martyrdom and we chose martyrdom,” adding that the late “[MPs] Gibran Tueni, Pierre Gemayel, and Antoine Ghanem gave their lives,” because they refused to abandon their obligation to their country, he said.
