Gemayel: We Promise Victory in Elections
Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel on Saturday promised "victory" in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
"Today is a gloomy day. At the same time it is a day of victory — victory of Lebanon”s freedom and independence," Gemayel started off by saying.
"We promise victory in the upcoming legislative elections," Gemayel told a rally in Martyrs” Square to mark the 4th anniversary of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri”s assassination.
"Victory is the actual punishment against the criminal," he said.
Gemayel accused the Hizbullah-led March 8 coalition of undertaking "a scheme to build a state in which Beirut is replaced with Tehran, Tripoli with Damascus and Bkirki with Brad."
"Either the spirit of the Cedar Revolution triumphs, or they triumph and continue their coup against the state," he added.
"Loyalty to Lebanon is worthless without loyalty to the state," Gemayel stressed, adding that election is the "choice between sovereignty and tutelage."
He said the tragedy of Hariri”s assassination has become a "path to freedom."
"We celebrate this anniversary and Lebanon is free from all tutelage and the International Tribunal for Lebanon is drawing near," the former president stressed.
