Kerry in Beirut Wednesday
U.S. Democratic Senator John Kerry will arrive in Beirut on Wednesday for an hours-long visit as part of a regional tour, As-Safir newspaper reported Tuesday.
Kerry, who heads the Senate Foreign Relations committee, will hold talks with President Michel Suleiman, Premier Fouad Saniora and Mustaqbal Movement leader Saad Hariri, sources in Washington told the daily.
Kerry held talks on Monday with Jordanian King Abdullah in Amman on ways to jumpstart the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The regional tour will also include Egypt, Israel, the Palestinian Territories and Syria.
