Report: Hariri Murder Suspects to Be Indicted Ahead of Polls
A court ruling to indict suspects in the assassination of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri will be issued a few days before the June elections, An Nahar daily reported Tuesday.
The indictment is expected to be announced shortly before the June 7 parliamentary polls, the paper said, without elaborating. The report ran under An-Nahar”s “Secrets of the Gods” tidbit.
Last week, pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat reported that the charge sheet in Hariri”s Feb. 14, 2005 murder case has been completed.
It quoted a judicial source as saying that the sheet will be released after the completion of necessary measures for the launch of the international tribunal in The Hague March 1.
