One Wounded in Hand Grenade Explosion in Beirut
Two separate hand grenades exploded late Monday night in Beirut wounding a Lebanese citizen, the National News Agency reported Tuesday.
Unknown assailants threw the first grenade on a pavement in the northern tunnel leading to the Tayouneh roundabout, causing only material damages, it said.
In the second attack, an attacker tossed a grenade in front of a coffee shop on the Sultan Ibrahim Bridge in the Jnah area south of Beirut, wounding 24-year old Alaeddin Bou Karroum, the agency said. The victim was carried to the Rafik Hariri Government Hospital for treatment.
The NNA had no further information on the identity of the attackers.
