Does Syria Want To Involve Hezbollah In A War?
Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra said in an interview with Future News TV on Sunday morning that he insists “on holding the election on a single day, and this is one of the important reforms that we achieved.”
He added that calls for holding in the elections over a two day period are a ploy which would allow parties to “obstruct the elections on the second day if the results of the first day don’t fulfill their aspirations.”
Zahra spoke about the Saturday exchange of rocket and artillery fire on the Lebanon-Israel border, saying: “Rocket launching from the South is not relevant to the Arab-Israeli struggle or the Palestinian cause. It is instead a regional message.”
“We will not allow security breaches similar to what we are witnessing in the South,” he added.
He spoke about possible culprits for the Saturday rocket launch, saying: “Israel is convinced that Hezbollah is not responsible for launching the rockets, and we are aware that most of the Palestinian organizations and groups in Lebanon are loyal to Syria.”
“Does Syria want to involve Hezbollah in a war?” Zahra asked.
Zahra concluded that “the Special Tribunal is now immune from political blackmail, and I don’t think that anything can affect it.”
