Rhetoric and Acts Can Endanger the Elections
Speaking to Voice of Lebanon, Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar said the rocket-launching against Israel on Saturday was “militarily a primitive action that indicates those who did this either belong to a militant group with no modern arms or are a new group that has emerged with a specific agenda.”
He added that “Hezbollah and its allies have no interest in launching rockets, especially when we are approaching the [parliamentary] elections.”
Najjar spoke about the upcoming parliamentary elections, saying: “Political tensions prevail. We have entered the election phase without creating political damage, and we should watch our rhetoric and acts because they can endanger the elections.”
He also said that if the new US administrations fail in its diplomatic efforts with Iran and Syria, “Netanyahu can convince the Americans to resort to a military solution, and this is what we fear.”
