New Form of Obstruction Exercised After Doha Agreement
Future Movement MP Michel Pharaoun said in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Monday that Lebanon was witnessing a new form of obstruction after the Doha Agreement from within the cabinet and from outside.
Pharaoun said that all pending appointments – whether judicial or those on the Constitutional Council – were frozen, which negatively affected the whole country.
“The problem is that there is a faction in the country that considers itself above the law and [considers] its interests above the country’s interests,” he said.
Pharaoun also said that the national dialogue was deteriorating without resolving any problems, noting that the recurrent incidents of violence in various regions of the country instilled fear in citizens prior to the upcoming parliamentary elections.
