Aoun to Lebanese: Your Voice is Your Rifle, Don”t Sell Your Vote
Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) leader MP Michel Aoun urged the Lebanese people not to sell their votes in the forthcoming elections.
"Your vote is your rifle … Don”t sell it for $1,000," Aoun said after a meeting of his Reform and Change parliamentary bloc.
The FPM chief also reiterated his earlier demand of holding the elections on separate days.
He said that the parliamentary majority had failed to secure the safety of its supporters during the February 14 mass rally to commemorate the fourth anniversary of Hariri”s killing.
Aoun was referring to the violence which followed the rally, leading to the death of one person and the wounding of several others.
Asked to comment on recent remarks by Labor Minister Mohammad Fneish, who said on Sunday that Hizbullah was committed to holding the election on a single day, the retired general said that he disagreed with his ally on this matter.
