March 14: Tribunal Is Guarantee for Justice

March 14 Forces said Wednesday the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) will "guarantee" an end to political crimes and will ensure that justice will be done.

Following its weekly meeting, the Forces” general secretariat said "the blood of martyrs led by (former) Premier Rafik Hariri" forced the formation of the tribunal, praising the Arab and international support for the STL.

The secretariat condemned assaults on citizens returning from the Feb. 14 rally to commemorate the anniversary of Hariri”s assassination. It said incidents like the kidnapping of an MEA engineer and an assault on a lieutenant showed that law violators "are going too far." As such, security forces must "arrest the perpetrators and refer them to the judiciary."
