Army Arrests 16 Individuals Following Marada-LF Incident
Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) arrested 16 individuals following a Wednesday night incident between supporters of the Marada and the Lebanese Forces (LF) at Shekka.
The “incident” resulted in the injury one Marada supporter.
"Following the security incident on Wednesday evening in Shekka between two local political parties, the military charged the locations of known suspects and arrested 16 individuals, eight of whom were referred with their weapons to the judicial authorities," LAF statement said.
The LF website said that "Marada elements provoked the Lebanese Forces bureau in Shekka as they attempted to break into it and act that resulted in a spar as LF supporters barred them."
Meanwhile, the Marada”s website said that one supporter was "badly beaten by LF elements who later fired at him as he returned back to his home from hospital."
