Security Breaches Likely to Top Agenda at Next Dialogue Session
Wael Abu Faour, the Minister of State without portfolio, said Friday that the latest security breaches are likely to dominate the agenda at a national dialogue session scheduled for Monday.
A fifth round of all-party talks on a defense strategy proposed by Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was set for March 2.
On the budget crisis, Abu Faour said efforts undertaken by President Michel Suleiman "could clear the way" for state budget approval during next week”s Cabinet meeting.
"We have entered the pacification phase, which is accompanied by one-on-one contacts in order to find a way out of the budget crisis," Abu Faour told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.
He said the Cabinet agreed on Thursday to ease tensions among ministers and pave the way for a budget solution.
Abu Faour said that the "responses" Suleiman has received from both Prime Minister Fouad Saniora and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri could "clear the way" for budget approval at next week”s Cabinet meeting.
He said that "objective talks" will ensure the rights of south Lebanon citizens.
