Damascus will Try any Syrian Suspected of Involvement in Hariri”s Murder
Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar on Monday said Lebanon should cooperate with the international tribunal since it requested its establishment.
"Other countries, however, are not obliged to cooperate," Najjar told Future News television late Monday.
"To my understanding, Syria is committed to its sovereignty in criminal issues," he explained.
"And if it was proven that some Syrians were involved in Hariri”s assassination, it (Damascus) will prosecute them," Najjar added.
In response to a question, Najjar said that "according to my information, the charges attributed to those who were released in the Hariri murder were not the same attributed to the four generals."
