Council for Security Warns against Celebratory Shootings
Lebanese authorities will pursue and arrest any individual who shoots in the air during celebrations or political speeches, the central council for security warned Tuesday in its weekly meeting.
The council, headed by Interior Minister Ziad Baroud, warned against the reemergence of celebratory shootings and said the names of those involved will be placed on the wanted list.
The phenomenon has on more than one occasion caused the death or injury of innocent bystanders in addition to damaging property and sowing panic.
