Lebanese Judges Begin Leaving Beirut to The Hague
The four participating Lebanese judges at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon began leaving Beirut to The Hague under strict confidential and security measures.
The Central News Agency on Wednesday quoted informed sources that the four chosen judges began leaving Lebanon to the Netherlands under strict security conditions.
Sources added that the 4 judges would be sworn in on Monday, adding that the Lebanese government is very keen not to divulge their names for safety reasons.
Sources also added that tribunal circles are eagerly awaiting the Lebanese government”s decision for appointing a Lebanese deputy general –prosecutor to Daniel Bellemare, sources hinted that the decision could come by mid March.
