Fear of Elections Results Prompts LF-Kataeb Disagreement Rumors
Nadim Gemayel, a candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Beirut’s first district, said during the opening of his first electoral office in Achrafieh that the Kataeb party and Lebanese Forces were united because they shared the same beliefs relating to issues much larger than the elections.
He added some were launching rumors prior to the elections in an attempt to create disunity among the March 14 alliance because they felt they were in a weak position.
He called for running the elections “in a clear manner” and not to be dragged into challenges and insults. “After June, 7, the real battle for development will begin,” he concluded.
