Salloukh: “Tehran is part of Arab solidarity”, UAE Foreign Minister Disagrees
As-Sharq al-Awsat daily reported on Saturday from a senior Arab source that Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh called for forging dialogue with Iran during the Arab Foreign ministers meeting in Cairo on Wednesday. He said that “Tehran is part of Arab solidarity.”
According to the paper, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayid responded to Salloukh and stated that this was untrue because Iran was occupying Arab countries. He was referring to the disputed islands between the Emirates and Iran.
He noted that calling for dialogue with Iran is like requesting dialogue with Israel in the Arab League, the daily added.
