Geagea from Kuwait Stresses Need to Set Up Serious Ties with Syria
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Tuesday stressed the need to build good relations with Syria.
His remarks came following a meeting with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah.
Geagea said his visit aimed at reviewing with the emir the situation in Lebanon and the Arab world as a whole. They also discussed the recent inauguration of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Geagea added.
He stressed the need to establish "serious, genuine and equal" ties between Lebanon and Syria and called for reconciliation among Arabs.
Geagea, who arrived in Kuwait Monday evening, is due to meet several other Kuwaiti officials.
His visit, which will last a few days, came upon an invitation from the emir, the state-run National News Agency said.
Geagea was accompanied by MP Strida Geagea, former cabinet minister Joe Sarkis as well as LF external affairs officer Joseph Nehme.
