Lebanese Soldier and another Man Snatched, Hizbullah Denies Connection
Two people, including a Lebanese soldier, were kidnapped from their apartment in Tabarja by what media reports said were armed Hizbullah agents, a claim the Lebanese party denied on Wednesday.
VDL radio station said earlier that suspected "Hizbullah gunmen raided the apartment Army Corporal Rashid Ghossein and a man of al-Haibi family in Tabarja-Kesserwan and took them to an unknown destination."
Hizbullah later denied claims of its involvement, the NNA reported.
"Reports carried out by some media outlets connecting Hizbullah to the kidnapping of a Lebanese soldier are completely false," the party said in a statement.
LBC television said the operation was perpetrated in connection to the disappearance of a minor girl identified only as Zeina, LBC said. The report did not provide additional information on the identity of the kidnappers.
In its report, VDL said Hizbullah”s security arm, "after being contacted over the issue, said the two men will be released Wednesday afternoon." The report could not be independently verified.
