Suleiman, Saniora, Berri to Meet within a Week
Beirut media reported Wednesday that President Michel Suleiman has managed to organize a meeting between Prime Minister Fouad Saniora and Speaker Nabih Berri in a week”s time.
Circles who helped arrange the meeting have reported that it will take place at Baabda Palace within a week. An-Nahar newspaper reported that issues regarding this meeting might be brought up during Berri”s visit to Baabda Palace on Wednesday.
Recent tensions and disagreements between Saniora and Berri had previously made these talks difficult.
Al-Liwaa newspaper also reported that the proposed meeting could discuss issues surrounding the state budget and the Council of the South, sources of recent government quarrels.
