12 Wounded As Bus Drivers Clash
Private bus drivers from Jbeil, Jouneh and Doura attacked 13 public buses on Friday that work the Beirut-Tripoli line. They were protesting against Public buses taking away their clients along the northern highway line.
12 individuals were reported wounded including 4 military personnel.
Private bus drivers threatened their “private” competitors from Tripoli of further attacks if their buses were to stop in their region to pick up passengers.
Attacked bus drivers gathered in protest outside Tripoli”s Municipal Building calling of local officials to "intervene and protect their livelihood."
Parliament member Musbah al-Ahdab denounced the incident promising to follow up on the issue with the concerned authorities.
