Deadlines Hinder Settlement to State Budget Crisis
Lebanon”s 2009 state budget now faces new complications related to legal and constitutional deadlines.
The daily An Nahar on Thursday quoted parliamentary sources as saying that major difficulties face the mechanism as the process will have to go through Parliament and from there to the Finance and Budget Committee which is supposed to hold a number of meetings with specialized committees and ministries before the proposal is referred to Cabinet”s General Board for approval.
The sources said President Michel Suleiman is authorized to take the appropriate decision in this regard.
