March 8 discards consensus to reject Palestinian naturalization
Coordinator of the March 14 General Secretariat Fares Soueid told LBC TV on Friday that the alliance proposed lowering the voting age to 18 during its conference at BIEL last Saturday, noting that the proposal had led to political consensus.
He added that the draft law proposed by MP Boutros Harb that called for rejecting the naturalization of Palestinians in Lebanon aimed to put an end to the March 8 coalition’s political one-upmanship, and “we saw that all those who were attacking March 14 over the proposal abandoned this principle during Thursday’s parliamentary session.”
“Yesterday, March 8 refused to approve a Lebanese consensus on rejecting the settlement” to naturalize Palestinians, he concluded.
