Sami Gemayel Criticizes Hizbullah
Phalange Party Central Coordinator Sami Gemayel on Sunday slammed Hizbullah, saying "sovereignty cannot be complete as long as some wish to give party of it to Iran, Syria or the Palestinians."
"We are going through a difficult and dangerous period," Gemayel said in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station.
"I also dare say we are in a period of rehabilitation," he added.
"Sovereignty cannot be complete as long as some wish to give part of it to Iran, Syria or the Palestinians," Gemayel stressed.
He criticized Hizbullah without naming it, saying: "There is a party in Lebanon that owns an army dissimilar to the Lebanese army, and enjoys foreign connections that contradict with the state. This takes the country to a different course."
Turning to the upcoming elections, Gemayel said the Phalange Party will present a "comprehensive platform regarding its vision of Lebanon”s future."
On Parliament”s approval on a draft law lowering the voting age to 18, Gemayel said: "We have to supervise implementation of the law."
"Every party must bear responsibility for this issue," he added.
He called on young people not to be "affected by glamorous speeches."
