Parliamentary elections demand the consolidation of independence
Lebanese Forces MP Strida Geagea called for consolidating the “new” independence Lebanon obtained in the spring of 2005 in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Geagea, who is married to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, said the Maronite Church and Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir were devoted to fostering, renewing and defending independence. “Lebanon would not have been able to persevere and achieve its new independence without Patriarch Sfeir,” Geagea said during a lunch hosted by Maronite Bishop George Abi Younes in Mexico.
Geagea also called for the Lebanese army to control of all weapons in the country.
