Mitri looks to boost ethics, standards of media
Information Minister Tarek Mitri said on Friday he had been holding meetings with representatives of audiovisual media organizations to formulate an agreement on the need for commitment to the principles media freedom in Lebanon while strengthening the credibility and ethics of journalism.
"Along with many media professionals and citizens, I look forward to media that respects ethical and professional standards," a statement issued by the minister”s office said. The statement said Mitri regretted that "some media" was using "freedom in a way that is not free of incitement and threats to raise disputes and feelings of hatred."
