Berri, Nasrallah Hold Crunch Talks on Polls
Speaker Nabih Berri and Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah met in the past hours to settle the remaining unresolved issues in terms of minority tickets in both Shiite-populated and mixed districts, al-Liwaa daily reported Saturday.
It said the two leaders were careful to safeguard the "share" of allied parties such as the Social Syrian Nationalist Party, Minister Elie Skaf and the Tashnag party.
The daily reported that MP Gen. Michel Aoun was "delegated to form the Baabda and Jezzine tickets and to determine who will run for the Shiite seat in Jbeil. Skaf was assigned to form the list for Zahleh."
