Ministries are not electoral platforms
Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra told New TV on Saturday that the LF expected to have candidates in Bcharre, Koura, Akkar, North Bekaa, South Lebanon and maybe Beirut.
He also affirmed that Eddy Abillama would be the Lebanese Forces’ candidate for the Maronite seat in the Metn district.
“Is it acceptable for Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil to hold a press conference in which he signs a paper announcing he was carrying out his duties?” Zahra said, adding that Bassil was supposed to improve services at his ministry.
“No one can exploit his ministry for electoral campaigns,” he said, as everything was meant to be controlled and registered.
Reducing the prices of telephone calls was proposed two years ago, Zahra noted, but there was no possibility for the changes to be implemented at that time.
