FPM has more in common with SSNP than with Nayla Tueni
Deputy Prime Minister Issam Abu Jamra said that his party, the Free Patriotic Movement, had more in common with the Syrian Socialist National Party than with Nayla Tueni, the candidate for the Greek Orthodox seat in the Beirut I district.
In an interview with New TV on Monday, Abu Jamra, who is running for the same seat as Tueni, said that the voters’ choice in their district was easy.
Abu Jamra said that whatever seat he ran for, whether in Beirut I or Marjayoun, he was an Orthodox, and his battle had started over the deputy PM’s privileges since the day of his appointment.
He also said he wished National Bloc leader Carlos Eddé would be a candidate in Kesrouan. “It would be fun, and General Michel Aoun would be happy,” he said.
Abu Jamra said there was no centrist bloc, noting that the president was elected by consensus and belonged to all the Lebanese.
Abu Jamra said that Speaker Nabih Berri would nominate a candidate in the Jezzine district, adding that he was continuing communication with him over the matter.
