Hariri, Mikati and Safadi agree to forge alliance in Tripoli
Future Movement MP Samir Jisr told LBC television on Monday that his movement’s leader, MP Saad Hariri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Minister of Economy Mohammad Safadi agreed to forge an alliance.
He added the Future Movement intended to expand its alliances in North Lebanon because “it wants this coalition to be political, not simply electoral.”
He also said the alliance with Mikati was more important and went beyond short-term electoral purposes, adding that the March 14 alliance was running in the upcoming parliamentary elections on the basis of partnership among all its members.
He said some issues should be discussed with Future’s allies and added electoral needs had led to former Minister Jean Obeid’s exclusion from the movement’s list.
He concluded that MP Misbah Ahdab was an essential political figure in Tripoli and he already confirmed his alliance with Future.
