Our desire is to establish a Christian bloc
Michel Mouawad, a member of the March 14 General Secretariat who is running for a Maronite seat in Zgharta in the upcoming elections, met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Thursday to discuss the latest political and electoral developments.
Following the meeting in Maarab, Mouawad told reporters that “the March 14 alliance in Zgharta-al-Zawiy was solid.”
“I am allied with the Lebanese Forces, and we opt to establish a Christian bloc in which the LF would have a central role.”
The bloc, he said, “would defend the role and interests of the Christians in the state, while simultaneously cooperating with the Church and the Presidency.”
