March 14 Koura list based on three principles; freedom, sovereignty and independence
Deputy Parliament Speaker Farid Makari announced Saturday March 14″s list of candidates for the Koura district.
In addition to Makari, the "Koura Decision List" includes MPs Farid Habib and Nicolas Ghosn, the deputy speaker told a gathering in Kfar Hazir.
The March 14 decision to rename the three deputies "does not mean that we oppose change," Makari said.
"On the contrary, our choice of candidates is an expression of our desire to be part of the change that restored Lebanon”s sovereignty and independence. It is the change that revived political life in Lebanon and released liberties from the grip of tutelage," he added.
"We were part of the change that was caused by the Cedar Revolution," Makari told his audience.
He said March 14 will strive to "safeguard" education and cultural projects in Koura.
"The Lebanese are convinced that the elections are fateful and that their votes will prevent Lebanon from returning to the state of chaos and uncertainty," he said.
Makari urged voters in Koura to choose candidates who best "represent their beliefs," adding that the list opposes foreign "tutelage."
