Maronite Patriarch stands to serve always the Lebanese
Greek Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim said on Saturday that the “elections in Lebanon are delicate because of the domestic situation.”
He called on the Lebanese to care about their country and expressed his gratitude to “the Maronites and the Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir because he stood to serve always the Lebanese.”
In reference to his support for MP Michel al-Murr, Hazim said “I’m the Greek Orthodox Patriarch and Michel and his family are good orthodox people and I don’t know any other Greek Orthodox candidates. However I’m not taking sides and I do not differentiate between any orthodox in Lebanon.”
He said that Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun had informed him of his intention to visit him while he was Syria and that he waited for him but Aoun did not arrive.
