Cabinet obliged to declare clear position on Egyptian accusations against Hezbollah
March 14 General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soueid told the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Wednesday that many Lebanese rejected the idea of any Lebanese party becoming a security concern for other Arab states, in response to a question regarding the recent discovery of an alleged Hezbollah cell in Egypt.
He called on the Lebanese cabinet to announce a clear position in response to the Egyptian government’s accusations and evidence.
He said the March 14 alliance represented all parties and had satisfied them all during the formation of its electoral lists.
Soueid noted that negotiations were being undertaken with some independent candidates, adding these efforts were intended to form a unified alliance that would ensure an equal electoral battle.
“We are waiting for [Change and Reform bloc leader] MP Michel Aoun to announce his Christian candidates in the Jbeil district. This issue is a matter of time and Hezbollah is ready,” he noted.
