Kidnapped Man”s Body Found in Aley, Killer Arrested
The body of a man kidnapped three days ago was found dumped in a barren terrain near a side road in Aley”s Ras al-Jabal area Thursday night, media reports said.
Security forces arrested Youssef Ftouni”s friend H. Z. who was behind the crime for personal reasons, the reports said.
The state-run National News Agency said H. Z. and his brother persuaded Ftouni to head to an area in southern Lebanon after they suspected that he was in a relationship with H. Z.”s wife.
The two brothers killed Ftouni and transported his body to Aley and dumped it in the area of Ras al-Jabal, according to NNA. Police used sniffer dogs to find the body after H. Z. revealed its location.
Ftouni disappeared three days ago and police found his vehicle in Beirut”s Ouzai neighborhood.
NNA said Friday that Ftouni was strangled to death. Security sources told An Nahar newspaper that the man was most likely killed immediately after his kidnapping.
In another security incident, a percussion bomb exploded in the area of Saint Therese in Hadath without causing damage.
