Hizbullah Supporters Protest against Sison Visit to South
Some 500 supporters of Hizbullah protested Tuesday in a southern town after learning of a possible visit by the U.S. ambassador.
Shouting anti-U.S. slogans, protesters in Abba said they were demonstrating against a reported visit by U.S. Ambassador Michele Sison to a school in the area.
A U.S. Embassy statement would only say Sison stopped at another southern village.
Tuesday”s protest comes after a surprise stopover in Lebanon by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton two days earlier.
Last June, Hizbullah supporters attacked Sison”s motorcade with stones in southern Lebanon.
