Fostering agreement with independent candidates in Jbeil, Kesrouan ensures March 14 victory
After meeting with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Thursday in Maarab, Coordinator of the March 14 General Secretariat Fares Soueid said that “everyone knows that the March 14 alliance will not win the upcoming parliamentary elections if it does not foster an agreement with independent candidates in the Jbeil and Kesrouan districts.”
Soueid said he considered the release of the four generals that were held in connection to the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon a “victory for March 14 and its people,” and said he hoped that the opposition would accept all of the court’s decisions.
He also called for awaiting the outcome of the court before launching accusations against Lebanon’s judicial institutions and the alliance.
