Eddé challenges Aoun to live political debate on TV
National Bloc leader Carlos Eddé called on Change and Reform bloc leader Michel Aoun to accept a live political confrontation to be broadcasted on television and warned against Hezbollah’s plans, which he said might dangerously affect the Lebanese state.
Eddé questioned whether the Free Patriotic Movement accepted all of Hezbollah’s activities, especially when the party violated the sovereignty of other countries, a reference to the Hezbollah cell discovered in Egypt in April.
Eddé said that the FPM’s slogan “the third republic is constant” probably meant to say it is the republic of dividing shares between the three major confessions: Christians, Sunnis and Shia, instead of two between Christians and Muslims.
